About Therapy

The essence of my approach is to build a warm, supportive, non-judgmental and genuine therapeutic relationship with you that can empower you to find your own way towards a way of living which is more aligned with yourself

Therapy can help you make sense and organise your thoughts and feelings by connecting with yourself again. Therapy gives you the opportunity to nurture personal growth which is more inviting than seeing yourself as ‘broken’ and needing to ‘fix’ it. It can be viewed to be a form of taking care of yourself that can be maintained- similar to eating well or going to the gym. It doesn’t have to be a space you only come to as a last resort when you feel you’re at a point of crisis, it is also a valuable, safer space to develop new ways of understanding yourself.

You will be welcome, as you are, with whatever may be bringing you to therapy.

Whether it feels too big to talk about, or even too small to bother anyone with, if you feel anxious or it is disrupting your life, it can be reassuring to talk to someone who can help.

I understand it might feel difficult at first exploring things that perhaps you’ve never spoken about before, especially with someone new. What you bring to therapy is for you to decide, it is unique for everyone but nothing is ever considered ‘not relevant’. You will take the lead of the session and I will follow, we can work together and explore your concerns and thoughts at a pace you find comfortable.

When you are heard, accepted and understood, it can be a deeply healing experience and can lead to new ways of understanding yourself. Sometimes I may challenge your thoughts, behaviours and feelings and this can offer a different perspective which allows an alternate way to understanding yourself. I believe that therapy does not give you the answers but it is a place where answers can be found.

Together we can look at where you’ve been, where you are in the here and now, and where you hope to move forwards to.
